Ogden's "The General Basic English Dictionary" addresses 20,000 common words with 40,000 senses. The intent here is to provide developers with a translation list from standard English into Basic English. A related project, further along, is a spell-check word list for the Basic English words for developers and a specific wordlist including proper nouns for OpenOffice.org suite.

Stop ! Luis Rivera has created a one-step installer as an extension for Open Office 3.0.
It works fabulously and will be available here within a few days, as soon as we update the documentation. And then, hopefully, to the complete Open Office community. using OOo 3.0

FREE EXCEL VIEWER
Microsoft Excel Viewer is a freely distributable program that lets users view and print spreadsheet files for Excel for Windows (versions 2.0 and greater) and Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh (versions 2.2a and greater). Open Office.org suite also opens Excel files.
Requirements are Win95 or later ; PC 486 or later ; 3.8MB download and 9 MB disk load. See:

We can also send a text file by email attachment in .CSV format -- Comma Separated -- without spacing. The IDP download is "tab spaced".
