Accomplishments of November 2008
• Work with Basic English installer for OpenOffice.org 3.0.
Accomplishments of October 2008
• Minor updates to Basic translation dictionary (idp romanian 7a) for eParaphraser.
Accomplishments of Sept 2008
• Review eParaphraser, standalone page translation software being developed by member Mike.
Accomplishments of July 2008
• Book summaries for From Basic to Wider English, English as a Global Language, One Language for the World, and a reference books page.
Accomplishments of June 2008
• IDP translation version 0.7. The vocabulary has over 47,000 words, derivatives, spellings and senses to convert English to Basic.
• Much of the month has been spent working with a branch of the U.S. Dept of Education charged with planning the teaching of English in Asia . The approach is "Little Englishes" with a common vocabulary based on our sequence : Basic English, Next Step Basic, Simple English and Simple Wiki English. Key is the worldwide, free, Open Office.org suite for which we offer spell checking and English- to-Basic translation. Foundation funding is being sougnt to make this a free market endevour. We need to estimate and make progress with programming and integration with Open Office.org. Volunteers have a ground floor opportunity.   (more)

• Try to find Next Suppliment of 150 words for animals, plants and foods.

• Expansion of Old Testiment

Accomplishments of December 2007
• IDP translation version 0.6 f. The vocabulary has over 46,000 words, derivatives, spellings and senses to convert English to Basic. This completes requirements for version 0.7 and is a stopping point.
• Update the Spell-Check for OpenOffice.org office suite.
• Update the Spelling List for developers.

Accomplishments of November 2007
• IDP translation version 0.6 e. The vocabulary has 44,084 words, derivatives, spellings and senses to convert English to Basic. This completes The Basic DIctionary. Next, accumulated updates will complete version 0.6.
• IDP translation version 0.6 d. The vocabulary has 42,125 words, derivatives, spellings and senses to convert English to Basic.

• Summarize parts of "Basic and the Teaching of English in Burma".

Accomplishments of September 2007
• Summarize "Basic Step by Step" (text with many teacher's notes).

Accomplishments of August 2007
• Expand summary of "Basic for Economics" (Florence, Malthus)

Accomplishments of July 2007
• Complete "The Basic Teacher" (with text replacing scanned pages).

Accomplishments of early-mid 2007
• Samples of Koran , Book of Mormon , add to Old Testament.
• Add pages to many book summaries.
• Work with a user on (a failed attempt at) a zine.
• Beginning HTML course.
Accomplishments of January 2007
• IDP translation version 0.6 c. The vocabulary has 40,853 words, derivatives, spellings and senses.
